NO.2 GROUP & NO.100 GROUP HQ moved to Bylaugh Hall near East Dereham - the group and its squadrons were scheduled for transfer from Bomber Command to the Second Tactical Air Force, which was to be the RAF's commitment to the forthcoming cross-Channel invasion of the Continent. At the date of the transfer, No. 2 Group had 10 squadrons, two with Mosquitos, two with Bostons, three with Mitchells and three with Venturas. Aircraft total was 190 deployed on seven airfields.
